Gender
Sinapi Aba is a household name in most rural settings and with micro, small and medium businesses in all the regions of Ghana. The institution in line with its mission statement aligns its operations to supporting the vulnerable and less privileged in society. Through our community engagements, we have identified women to be marginalized in both social and economic development and this explains the high level of poverty among women in Ghana. As part of fulfilling its mission, Sinapi Aba sets out to address disparities between male and female development. Identifiable areas which serves as our focal points are what we consider to be the grassroots of society and these are household units (families), traditional governance structures and individual socio-economic actors. By means of “Gender Awareness” creation, Sinapi Aba together with its development partners such as Global Affairs Canada champions the course of women through advocacy and awareness creation on the need to create equal platforms for both female and male.
